I Want to Build a WordPress Blog

WordPress is the very best platform to create your site on. Google loves WordPress because of its content management system. It is easy to add fresh updated content to it every day. If you keep consistent with your content posting the Google bot will visit your site every time you have placed content on it. Google's job is to find valuable content to feed its massive content driven search engine. Why Google is so huge is because it is the rest of us who give it information so it may pass this information on to the millions of people who search the web every day.
Once you have decided that you yourself wish to create a blog then there are step by step resource online available for you to accomplish this procedure. You can be struggling in the beginning to come up with what it is that you want your blog to be about and do for you. The first thing that comes to mind for most people is that they wish to make money with their blog. Now this is well and good but the odds of you making money from this blog in the near future is slim to none, sorry to be the bearer of a disappointing message here.
The mindset to approach your blog building venture is with the mind-set of offering unbelievable value to people about your chosen topic. By doing it this way you will notice after a matter of time that you will have acquired a following of readers who come back to your blog on a regular basis. Because you post articles etc consistently on your site you will attract these follows like bees to a honey pot. Take note big tip here "Being Consistent is the Key." People in general don't care about how much you know they just want to know, that you care.
Tip One:
Find a market that is a small market in a larger market. We call this start out with a micro niche market. Use the Google keyword tool to do this and look for monthly exact match keyword phrases that have a search volume of 100 to 1500 per month and competition bar is around medium. Choose 6-8 of these and save them to your note pad. Remember this is your first site so you are not going to get right straight out of the gate.
Tip Two:
Use one of these keywords and create a domain name about 3 or 4 letters long. The extension can be a .com, .net, .org, .info doesn't matter. If you just want your blog to be in your own country then use your countries extension. It is best that you register this domain name for a minimum of 2 years that way Google thinks that you are committed to that site. This is another key tip.
Tip Three:
Next is you have to create a hosting account for your site. Now days there are loads to choose from and that is just a matter of making a decision. I use HostGator and Blue Host and they both have great 24/7 support to fix any issues. Tip here is to pay for a year's hosting up front not month by month. Don't over analyse at this stage as it is not worth it. Hosting companies are reliable these days.
Tip Four:
Now you have domain name and hosting it is time to liven up your blog. Starting out you will need a theme and at this stage just use the WordPress default theme as this will get you going. Tip here is it not the look of the theme that brings in a following it is the message that you deliver on a consistent basis that counts.
Tip Five:
Now it is time to tweak a few of the settings in your WordPress platform and add some plugins. This info can be found by searching in your favourite search engine or from my site. The tip here is to make sure in the privacy settings that you check the radio button that blocks the search engines from visiting your site because your site is not search engine friendly at this early stage. This is a massive tip here for the overall success of your site.
Tip Six:
Use six of the keywords that you had found and set up six pages using them as page titles. Create about five categories with names that relate closely with those keywords. Tip here is that the page titles and the categories have to match like relate closely not too far off beam.
Tip Seven:
Now it is time to create content on a regular basis. These are called posts and they will match one of the categories and also reference one of your pages topics as well. The tip here is post on a consistent basis. Find out what other sites in your market are talking about and create your own material based on your own opinions good or bad of the said topics. Tip here is you have to become a reporter and report about your own views on any subject matter. This can be daunting when first starting out but will become easier over time.
This is just the raw basics of setting up your own blog/website and once you get started it can become addictive. You can participate whether it is on a part time or fulltime basis. Remember do not go into this thinking you are going to make money from it. Now if that happens after awhile when your skill set gets better, then well and good that is the bonus part.
